As women, we are held to a ridiculous amount of conflicting standards. We are told how to feel, how to act, how to dress, how to live – and no matter how much care and thought we put into our choices, there is always someone saying it’s wrong. Enough is enough.
It’s ok to be loud.
It’s ok to be different.
It’s ok to make mistakes.
It’s ok to be sexy.
It’s ok to make your needs a priority.
At the start of this year I made a promise to myself: To be unapologetically me. I don’t want to live in fear of not meeting other’s standards. My happiness matters, more than others’ expectations. There’s been times I’ve felt lost, discouraged, and been told I’m failing. It can be a painful process but there’s also good in the struggle. I’ve never felt more empowered. I am enough, I am worthy.
So, here’s to YOU. No matter how you identify yourself, create a life that makes you happy. Nobody else is responsible for that except for you. Be humble, open, but true to yourself. And those who are meant to be in your life will celebrate you in all stages. Be you, and be bold.
